 Biography

Definition of Biography

A biography is a story or information about a person's life. A biography is more complex than just a resume and data on a person's work, it also tells about the feelings involved in experiencing these events. The biography describes in full the life of a character from childhood to old age, even to death. All services, works, and everything that is produced or done by a character is also clarified.

Function of Biography

• To know a person’s story about his/her life outside of any accomplishments this person may be known for.
• To give much information easily and educate the readers.

Characteristic of Biography

• Biography is not written by subject and always written in the third person.
• Based on research.
• Describes the person’s surroundings (where, when and how the person lived).
• Use vivid language to narrate events.

Generic Structure of Biography

• Orientation (Introduction) = It is the opening paragraph, gives the readers the background information of the person.
• Events = In events, should be in chronological order.
• Orientation (Closing) = It consists of a conclusion or comment or the writer. Tell about the achievement or the contribution of the person.

Grammar and Language Features

• Simple Past Tense = A simple form of an event that happened in the past. Use the second form of the verb (verb 2). Example : He attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School.
• Temporal Sequence and Temporal Conjunction = As a liaison between one sentence with another sentence in the order of time. Temporal Sequence (waktu) dan Temporal Conjunction (konjungsi temporal). Example : Styles’ parents divorced when he was seven and his mother later was remarried to Robin Twist; he died in 2017.
• Focus on Specific participants (use of action verbs) = Explain something that the character is actively doing by using some verbs in V2 or Past Form. Example : Styles launched his own record label, Erskine Records, in May and he signed a recording contract with Columbia Records as a solo artist, the same label behind One Direction, in June.

Types of Biography

• Short Biography (focuses only on highlights of a person’s life)
• Long Biography (about life and times of someone in a lot more detail)

R.A. Kartini

Each April 21 peolple in indonesia celebrate the kartini day. It is delightful day for the lady on the grounds that we praise the conception of incredible woman R.A. Kartini. Everybody knows who Kartini is. She is our national champion and an extraordinary woman with the brilliant thought.

Kartini was conceived in 1879 April 21 in Mayong Jepara. Her dad was Rama Sosroningrat a Wedana (associate of head of rule) in Mayong. Her mom, Ma Ngasirah was a young lady from Teluk Awur town in Jepara as the little girl of a respectable family, she felt fortunate in light of the fact that she got more than the standard individuals got. She improved instruction than other youngsters. In november 12 1903 she wedded adipati djoyodiningrat, the head of rembang rule. As per Javanese custom Kartini needed to tail her spouse. At that point she moved to Rembang.

In September 13 1904 she gave a conception to her child. His name was Singgih. Anyway, subsequent to conceiving a child, her condition was deteriorating and she at long last passed away on september 17 1904 on her 25 years of age.

Picasso was one of the most outstanding and important artists of the 1900’s. He is best known for his paintings. Almost every style in modern art is represented in Picasso’s works. Picasso was born in 1881 in Malaga, Spain as the son of an art teacher. He studied painting from his father and his college level course of study at the academy of arts in Madrid. From about 1895 to 1901, he painted realistic works in a traditional stylE. He, then, entered what was called the Blue PerioD. During this time, he only used shades of blue in his paintings to show the poverty he saw in Barcelona. After 1908, he entered into the style of cubism. Among his well-known cubist paintings are “Three Musicians” and “Man with a Guitar”. Picasso died in Moughins, France in 1973. He was really great artist.

In addition she had written two best-selling books: one her autobiography and the other, a fashion guide.
